Scoping a forensic review without prejudging outcomes

A forensic engagement should begin with a written protocol: period, systems in scope, custody of devices, and the standard of reporting (observations, not determinations of guilt).

Books-to-bank tracing, related-party mapping and exception analytics are usually sufficient first-phase tools. Imaging of personal devices requires explicit authority and legal advice.

Reports are prepared for the instructing party. They are not a substitute for a police complaint, SFIO reference or court process.
